We are delighted to present the Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Science and Technology Applications (ICoSTA-2023) organized by Postgraduate School, Universitas Negeri Medan. Proceedings of the 5th ICoSTA contain several papers that have been presented at the seminar with the theme “The Future of Science and Technology: Trends and Emerging Applications”. This conference was held on 2 November 2023 virtually and became a routine agenda annually. The 5th ICoSTA was realized this year with various presenters, lecturers, researchers, and students from universities both in and out of Indonesia. The 5th International Conference on Science and Technology Applications (ICoSTA-2023) shows up as an Applied Sciences and Material Applications as well as Social, Educational, and Humanities Technology. All of the papers reflect the conference scope and become the latest trend. It has been our privilege to convene this conference. Our sincere thanks, to the conference organizing committee; to the Program Chairs for their wise advice and brilliant suggestions on organizing the technical program, and to the Program Committee for their thorough and timely reviewing of the papers. Recognition should go to the Local Organizing Committee members have all worked extremely hard on the details of important aspects of the conference programs and social activities.
