Abstract
This study aims to develop innovative learning materials using a virtual project-based laboratory to improve high order thinking skills (HOTS) in electrophoresis teaching. The subjects of this study consisted of 20 students as the experimental class and 20 students as the control class which was carried out by purposive sampling. Expert validation test results obtained valid test instruments. Obtaining data for student learning outcomes using valid 20 HOTS questions and reliable (0.84). The results of the one sample independent t-test obtained the sig value. = 0.000 <0.05 which indicates H0 is rejected, Ha is accepted, namely the learning outcomes of students who are taught using virtual project-based laboratory higher than students who do not use virtual lab-based practicum virtual project-based laboratory media with an average value of student learning outcomes of 85.80 for the experimental class and 61.70 for the control class.
