This is the 1st year conference with a specific topic and interesting organizing committee. We had some major issues with regards to finances, namely, they wanted us to provide complimentary registration to invited paper authors and - the major thing - they wanted to have an arts exhibition and invite 9 artists to exhibit their works. They wanted ICST to pay for the room (this was not in the budget) and they wanted to make the admissions to the exhibition room free of charge. They were also constantly asking us for sponsorships and they also told they could finance the artists that were exhibiting, but they wanted ICST to provide these artists complimentary registration for the conference.
The major person with whom 85% of communication ran was Fay Huang, TPC Chair (she performed the functions of Local Chair and Web Chair in most cases). Overall, she wanted ICST to finance everything, and this is why she may be not very much satisfied with constant budget constrains communicated to her by us.
