Sustainable development calls for a concerted effort to build an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future for people and the planet. For sustainable development to be achieved, it is crucial to align three core elements: economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection. These elements are interrelated and essential for the well-being of individuals and society.

The challenges for emerging countries, in general, are extreme poverty goals, access to infrastructure, environmental degradation, and social inclusion. Meanwhile, challenges for developed countries are inequality, climate change, and biodiversity, and the challenges of developing countries are more likely in between. Thus, every country has strategic imbalances in achieving SDGs between priorities in the social, economic, and environmental pillars. In the midst of the journey towards the SDGs in 2030, it is necessary to reflect on the targets achieved so far to realign the initial goals set.

This book includes in-depth discussions between academicians and practitioners, especially on the existence of continuity between social and economic activities in supporting environmental improvement is expected to minimize the impact of environmental damage.
