Game theory is a resourceful mathematical framework to analyze complex interactions of cooperative or competing decision makers taking into account their preferences and requirements. The far-reaching achievements of Game Theory are well manifested by 8 Nobel prizes for researchers in this field, most recently in 2007 for “the foundations of mechanism design theory”. GameNets 2012 aims to bring together the leading researchers in Game Theory together for an informal yet informative gathering which hopefully will lead into new collaborative research initiatives and help advance the state-of-the-art.
