Simulations are carried out by a…The use of new and renewable energy for the application on gas burners is beneficial for the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of excess air during the combustion of producer gas from biomass gasification to release heat used as a fuel gas burner. Simulations are carried out by applying mass and energy balance, showing that an increase in excess air will decrease the non-adiabatic and adiabatic flame temperature. The result showed that an increase in excess of air reduces the amount of heat released to the environment for the same flame temperature. The maximum adiabatic flame temperature is at 1725.430C, while the non-adiabatic ranges from 600 to 8000C. Furthermore, heat is released in the range of 20.1 kW to 28.8 kW, and excess air from 0 to 40%.

The study of the wind turbine diffuser was carried out in order to increase the energy efficiency of converting wind energy into electrical energy. The closed-type wind turbine design is converted into a finite element model for aerodynamic calculations. The model of a closed-type wind turbine is investigated by changing the angle of attack of the diffuser, with various options for its parameters in order to find the most optimal conditions for increasing the energy efficiency factor of the energy carrier, which will ensure high energy efficiency of converting wind energy into electrical energy. Based on the study results was recommended the diffuser with the optimal angle of attack by constructing a closed-type wind turbine.

The primary intention of the advised performance must limit the number of switches to enhance the output waveforms with a preferred h…Among different types of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, Solar Power has become highly prominent with exhausting suitable to innovation in Power Electronic Systems. The primary intention of the advised performance must limit the number of switches to enhance the output waveforms with a preferred harmonic profile. This topology moderates the estimate about switches, isolated DC origin, expenditure, and intensity of the circuit substantially as correlated to other topologies. The proposed method uses the MPPT approach to exploit the maximum energy from solar photovoltaic to load entirely. The Proposed method provides almost sinusoidal output waveforms by developing a few power switches. The SPV arrangement was simulated and constitution through SPV arrays, a DC-DC buck converter, and a sliding mode MPPT regulation. Based on the cascaded H-Bridge multilevel converters, The strong constraint enforced confined DC voltage sources considering separately Cascaded H-Bridge. This constitution converter worth along with diminishing the constancy based on the system. The system gives boosting voltages with improves the harmonic profile. Performance of the arrangement demonstrated in MATLAB SIMULINK as well as PROTEUS.

For this purpose, this paper presents a single-phase current-sourc…The increasing demand for electricity and the impact of the consumption of fossil fuels leads to the need for approaching new alternatives of energy production, namely energy storage systems (ESS) and renewable energy sources (RES). For this purpose, this paper presents a single-phase current-source converter (CSC) with a hybrid dc-dc converter connected to the dc-link, which not only allows the interface of an electric vehicle (EV) and a RES, but also operates as shunt active power filter (SAPF). The operation as SAPF is performed through the CSC connected to the power grid, compensating some power quality problems that can occur in the electrical installation, namely current harmonics and low power factor. Moreover, the CSC can operate as a grid-tied inverter or as an active rectifier. Regarding the hybrid dc-dc converter, the main role of this power converter is to interface the CSC dc-link with the power converters for the EV and RES interfaces. As demonstrated along the paper, the CSC, combined with the hybrid dc-dc converter, allows the operation as SAPF, as well as the operation in bidirectional mode, specifically for the EV operation, and for injecting power from the RES. In this paper, the power electronics structure is described in detail, and the operating principle is introduced, supported by the description of the control algorithms. The validation results show the proper operation of the CSC as SAPF and the operation of the hybrid dc-dc converter as EV battery charger and discharger, as well as RES interface.

An electric vehicle (EV) battery charging station (EV-BCS) based on a bipolar dc power grid is presented in this paper, which is capable of delivering power to the grid (vehicle-to-grid – V2G mode), and directly exchange power between different EVs connected to the EV-BCS (vehicle-to-vehicle – V2V …An electric vehicle (EV) battery charging station (EV-BCS) based on a bipolar dc power grid is presented in this paper, which is capable of delivering power to the grid (vehicle-to-grid – V2G mode), and directly exchange power between different EVs connected to the EV-BCS (vehicle-to-vehicle – V2V mode), besides the traditional battery charging operation (grid-to-vehicle – G2V mode). The presented EV-BCS is based on three-level bidirectional buck-boost dc-dc converters and has a modular structure. Simulation results are presented with the aim of validating the aforementioned operation modes, being considered two EVs for simplicity reasons, since it is enough to validate the proposed operation modes. The presented results comprise both balanced and unbalanced operation in terms of power from the EVs viewpoint, with the purpose of considering a real scenario of operation, where a balanced consumption or power injection from the bipolar dc power grid side is always guaranteed.
