Retinal variables are integrated into multivariate cube to enhance its visual characteristics. The selective feature of variables and associative feature of the values of the same variable are improved with the integration of retinal variable into the set of visual variables. The selective, quantitative, and ordered features of the marks of a visual variable are enhanced by the integration of retinal variable into different values. The combination of multivariate cube and retinal variables in data visualization significantly increases visual characteristics. Multivariate cube integrated retinal variable is illustratively applied for visually analyzing the data set of the learning outcomes evaluation of information system curriculum at Thu Dau Mot University and the data set of the happenings of hand, foot, mouth disease in Binhduong province during 2012- more »

Better software are made adaptive to suit the surrounding environment. Context-based applications best fit into environments that undergo constant and frequent changes. Temperature management, Time management, GPS are just few examples where context-awareness becomes inevitable. Project Management is another domain that requires constant monitoring. The current tools of project management handle data gathering, plotting, and organizing, but requires high-level of human intervention to analyze data and integrate it. To the extent of our knowledge there is no efforts to introduce context awareness to project management domain. In this work, we introduce context and formally model project context using FCA. Additionally, we provide the results of the full implementation of our approach on a real-world software project. We show that our approach can formally answer queries that traditional tools could not answer. Also, we introduce a brief comparison between our approach and traditional project management software. Finally, we show that our approach can improve project management tools and minimize the effort spent by project managers. more »

This paper has proposed the real time image classification for burning image to automatically identify the degrees of burns in three levels: II, III, and IV. The proposed model uses the multi-colour channels extraction and binary based on adaptive threshold. The proposed model uses One-class Support Vector Machine instead of traditional Support Vector Machine (SVM) because of unbalanced degrees of burns images database. The classifying precision 77.78% shows the feasibility of our proposed model. more »

Sensors are the corner stone of context capturing however, sensed context data are commonly prone to imperfection due to the technical limitations of sensors, their availability, dysfunction, and highly dynamic nature of environment. Consequently, sensed context data might be imprecise, erroneous, conflicting, or simply missing. To limit the impact of context imperfection on the behavior of a context-aware system, a notion of Quality of Context (QoC) is used to measure quality of any information that is used as context information. Adaptation is performed only if the context data used in the decision-making has an appropriate quality level. This paper reports an analytical review the state of the art on quality of context in context-aware systems and points to future research directions. more »

The proposed hand poses classifying on images algorithm based on Viola-Jones method, wavelet transform, PCA and neural networks. On the first step, the Viola-Jones method is used to find the location of hand pose on images. Then, on the second step, the features of hand pose are extracted using combination of wavelet transform and PCA. Finally, on the last step, these extracted features are classified by multi-layer feed-forward neural networks. The proposed hand poses classifying on video-sequences algorithm based on the combination of CAMShift algorithm and proposed hand poses classifying on images algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithms effectively classify the hand pose in difference light contrast conditions and compete with state-of-the-art algorithms. more »

Hence, it focuses on rigorous approaches and cutting-edge solutions which break new ground in dealing with the properties of CA. Its purpose is to make a formal basis more accessible to researchers, scientists, professionals and students as well as developers and practitioners in computer science by providing them with state-of-the-art research results and future opportunities and trends. The feature scope of topics includes all aspects of CA in both computing and communication Original papers are solicited for this journal. In particular, theoretical contributions should be formally stated and justified, and practical applications should be based on their firm formal basis. more »
