The First Workshop on Information Assurance Middleware for COMmunications (IAMCOM) was held on the 12 January 2007. The workshop was held in conjunction with COMSWARE 2007 in the beautiful city of Bangalore, India.Assured and sustained communications between application end-points is an emerging area of research which synergizes the fault-tolerance techniques in communications with the performance enhancing techniques. This has evolved into a new area of Middleware for Dependable Communications, dealing with generic hardware/software tools and models to control and manage communication infrastructures.
