Abstract
The successful implementation of e-government in Indonesia requires various supporting factors, among which capacity building plays a pivotal role. Capacity building, which refers to the process of developing and strengthening the skills, abilities, and resources of individuals and institutions, is crucial for ensuring that e-government initiatives are effectively integrated into the public administration system. This article explores the role of capacity building as a key factor in the successful implementation of e-government in Indonesia, with a focus on human resource development, institutional support, and technological infrastructure. Through a comprehensive review of relevant literature, the paper examines how capacity building can address existing challenges, such as digital literacy gaps, institutional resistance, and inadequate technical resources, that hinder the progress of e-government in Indonesia. The article also highlights international best practices and lessons learned that can be applied to enhance the capacity of government institutions and ensure the long-term sustainability of e-government initiatives. Ultimately, the findings suggest that capacity building is indispensable for achieving the full potential of e-government in Indonesia.
