Abstract
Touch screen panel on the automotive dashboard has changed rapidly following the new technology and latest features invented to provide a better driving experience. It also gives simpler and cleaner look inside the automotive interior as it removes some tactile control such as dial or knob for the entertainment function, air conditioning, button or switch for gears or parking brake. Like the fast-growing smartphone development, some of the touch screen panel especially on high end vehicle removes completely the tactile control for the entire function to control the car. For drivers who are familiar with a conventional tactile control, they will have an issue regarding the new experience especially when it comes to controlling entertainment system and air conditioning function. Past studies done by several people show it may distract the drivers’ attention while driving as they need to focus on the driving itself instead of focusing on their touch screen panel.
