Abstract
Developmental Dyslexia is a neurobiology-based learning disorder, mainly featured by lasting difficulties in reading words with accuracy and fluency. The comprehension of neuroplasticity has greatly changed therapeutic methods. Therefore, this change is to move from compensatory tactics to interventions that aim to directly adjust the damaged neural circuits linked with reading. This review combines current evidence on the use of neuroplasticity principles to support people with dyslexia. Hence, it first sets forth core mechanisms of neuroplasticity, including synaptic strengthening, circuit reorganization, and oscillatory synchronization; these together build the biological basis for therapeutic change. Although there is noticeable progress, challenges still exist, such as large individual differences in treatment response, permanent structural neural distinctions, and a translational gap between neuroscientific research and reachable clinical or educational tools. Therefore, future research will give priority to personalized, early, and combined interventions based on neuroplasticity to achieve lasting brain changes and enhance reading results.
