Abstract
The multi-hop wireless networks developed by the FP6 IST ADHOCSYS project provide a cost-effective solution for providing broadband access in mountainous regions. The solution is based on ad hoc networking technologies, created using cheap off-the-shelf hardware equipment, open source software, and an enhanced version of the OLSR routing protocol. This paper describes the implementation, installation and deployment aspects of the project, focusing on current deployment of a pilot network further to the simulation results reported by the authors on [4].
