    Abstract

Generative AI technologies offer new opportunities for conversation-based games. However, maintaining narrative coherence and goal-oriented dialogue flow remains challenging. This paper explores game-design patterns for conversational AI games that embrace AI hallucinations as features rather than flaws, presenting prototypes and participatory design methods that lead to design patterns that integrate anomalous AI behaviour into the gaming experience.
