Abstract
This paper investigates the user experience of virtual museums, based on a user study of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Discovery Tour. The study included 22 participants, who tried the virtual experience in a lab environment and answered a questionnaire. Four main user experience themes were identified—usability, presence, features and content. Issues of accessibility, authenticity, and the possibilities and limitations of virtual museum experiences are discussed.
