Abstract
Smart grid is the next generation of power system with effective and reliable prediction, which can realize self-adaption and self–reconfiguration. Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications will be the key technology in the deployment of the future smart grid. In this paper, we first design a M2M network model in smart grid, and then propose a dynamic programming algorithm based on mixed queuing theory. By optimizing the network topology, we establish an intelligent method to reduce the cost of home energy management system (HEMS). The numerical results show that the proposed optimal traffic concentration scheme can effectively accomplish gateway setting and minimize the total cost of HEMS.
