Abstract
The optimal power flow (OPF) problem has emerged as one of the most commonly studied non - linear optimization problems. Under a variety of system requirements and control limits in general (OPF) must enhance the performance of electricity production, transmission, and distribution. OPF formulations and solution techniques are extremely varied. Furthermore, OPF's character is changing as a result of recent electricity markets and the incorporation of renewable resources. Many classical and meta-heuristic methods have been used to deal with various OPF formulations throughout the last three decades. To give a solid context for the current state of OPF formulations and solutions approaches, this survey examines both traditional and intelligent OPF approaches. The survey presents a complete discussion of several optimization approaches that researchers have applied to (OPF) and a focus on the benefits and downsides to each method for both traditional and intelligent OPF methods.
