Abstract

One factor that influences the productivity of Robusta coffee trees is the characteristics of tree branches. The purpose of this study was to compare the production of green cherries in terms of the characteristics of tree branches in two fields with different maintenance management in Pagaralam, South Sumatra. The data matrix entries of each field are the values of 7 variables in 30 coffee tree samples. These variables consist of the total number of cherries, the number of branch categories, and the number of cherries on each branch. Each data matrix was represented graphically by biplot analysis. The biplot results of each data matrix were compared using Procrustes analysis. The similarity comparison between the two data matrices included a translation process of 1.449, a rotation process of 0.191, and a dilation process of 0.180, resulting in a similarity measure of 83.7%. This indicates a similarity between the two biplots.
