Abstract

This study investigates how educational management systems integrated with physical and mental guidance contribute to character development among Islamic boarding school students. A quantitative descriptive–correlational design was employed involving 80 students from three Madrasah Aliyah institutions in Indonesia. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire measuring Educational Management Systems (EMS), Physical and Mental Guidance (PMG), and Character Development (CD). Statistical analysis using SPSS 26 indicated significant positive relationships between EMS and PMG (r = 0.69, p < 0.01) and between PMG and CD (r = 0.74, p < 0.01). Regression results showed that EMS and PMG jointly explained 67% of the variance in character development. These findings demonstrate that structured physical and mental guidance embedded within management systems significantly strengthens student discipline, emotional control, and moral behavior. The study confirms the importance of holistic management models in Islamic boarding education.
