Abstract
Jabutan Opak tradition is the biggest festival held every three years in Tegalweru, Dau, Indonesia. This tradition has several distinct features. There is various uniqueness in this tradition. Behind the exoticism of the tradition, there are two important phenomenological aspects, namely participant meaning, and holistic account. In the present study, the data were collected through recording phenomena and interviewing actors. The phenomenological analysis used to obtain the research results revealed that the actors of the Jabutan Opak tradition created intersubjective value, equality, and spirituality through their interactions with others and the processing of food around them.
