Abstract
The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is brought on by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, first struck the world's richest nations (SARS-COV-2). The COVID-19 pandemic has been a global shift in working patterns from employee’s work environment with their residence to hinder the exposure of dangerous infection. This pilot study aimed to examine the impact of new work practice on job performance among higher education institutions’ academics in Malaysia. The results showed that new work practice and work motivation significantly affect academics’ job performance. The study verified work motivation as a mediating variable on academics’ job performance while working from home. This study verified that work motivation mediates the impact of academics’ work performance while work from home.
