Abstract
Excessive religious and regional fanaticism has become a threat to the unity and integrity of the nation. Therefore, we need to re-explore the values of local wisdom contained in ancient texts. One of them is “Syair Nasihat”. This poem teaches about a peaceful life in the frame of diversity. Besides, it is also taught to build a sense of togetherness and tolerance between ethnic groups, races, and religions. Thus, digging back into local wisdom is expected to be an alternative to strengthen the sense of national unity and unity which is now starting to fade. The research method used is the philological method and the method of studying the text. The results of this research are forms of representation related to the values of multiculturalism contained in the SN text.
