Abstract

Music plays a very important role in theater performances and has a significant impact on the audience experience. Music helps to create an atmosphere that matches the mood and emotions that the theater performance is trying to express. For example, dramatic music can increase the tension in a tense scene, while upbeat music can increase the cheerful atmosphere in a joyful scene. Music in theater performances can also be used to communicate the meaning and message of the performance. The research process in reading the meaning of the lyrics of the song knitting the dimensions of time uses qualitative research. Finding data and conducting interviews (informants) and documentation as material in the preparation of the desired narrative (meaning). Theater performances with the play script "Knitting The Dimensions Of Time" require actors to be able to play acting and also be able to process vocals as a musical instrument of the show. Based on the description above, the researcher will examine the lyrics of the song "Knitting The Dimensions Of Time" using Roland Barthes' symbiotic study. This study will be conducted by analyzing the meaning of song lyrics through five main codes (Lexia).
