Abstract
This study aims to determine the success of the collaboration carried out by Karang Tunggal and Beringin Tunggal Jaya Villages, Paranggean District, East Kotawaringin Regency in realizing sustainable smallholder oil palm plantations by Presidential Regulation Number 44 of 2020 which mandates that all oil palm plantations must be certified by Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) by 2025. The analysis used a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study, the two villages succeeded in realizing sustainable smallholder oil palm plantations, obtaining ISPO and RSPO certification, and improving the welfare of their communities, most of whom work as independent oil palm farmers by implementing a form of collaborative governance through a multihelix approach with actors consisting of the government (province, district, village), private sector (SPOS Indonesia, JAVLEC Foundation, PBKS), universities (UGM, UPR), oil palm farmer groups, media, and KUD, and village heads implementing a transformational leadership style.
