Abstract
This research analyzes qualitative comparative case studies from three mining sector SEOs in Indonesia (PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk) to explore the development of the 2019-2023 Sustainability Report through environmental costs. The main focus is investigating the relationship between state capital and ESG practices in state-owned enterprises in the context of changing economic policies. This study examines the environmental costs underlying the interaction between sovereign equity and ESG performance and their impact on corporate desirability. This research aims to understand the sustainability practices and reporting challenges of the mining SOE sector. The research results show significant fluctuations in the environmental costs of the three SOEs, which are not in line with environmental problems in Indonesia. These findings provide important insights for policymakers and stakeholders in designing strategies to support the sustainable development of SOEs in Indonesia.
