Abstract
This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research aims to describe the learning process in the basic concepts of physics course in the PGSD study program, Medan State University. The location of this research is at Medan State University which is located at Jl. William Iskandar Ps. V, Kenangan Baru, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The population of this study was all students in the basic physics concepts course consisting of 14 classes. The assignments given in the learning process are critical journal review (CJR), critical book review (CBR). Based on the results of interviews with students, the learning process is quite interactive and involves students to be directly involved in learning, but the use of teaching materials that are applied still uses teaching materials in the form of books and dictations, so that students are less practical in accessing learning and also the teaching materials used do not coordinate student learning activities outside the classroom. Based on the documentation results regarding the learning evaluation conducted each semester, there are still questions with a weight of C2 and C3. The results of the learning evaluation obtained still show that many students have a standard value of Sufficient, namely in the range of 65.00 - 74.00
