Abstract
Speaking skills tend to be based on the national curriculum which often does not take into account local wisdom and socio-cultural contexts. This article aims to analyze speaking skills using the principles of dalihan natolu with a focus on mandok hata as one of the speaking skills. This research uses qualitative methods with primary data collection techniques through interviews and secondary data through literature studies. The results of the research show that mandok hata using the principle of dalihan natolu in the Batak tribe can improve speaking skills.
