Abstract

Risk factors that contribute to the stunting prevalence include adolescent marriage, hygiene practices, and insufficient healthy houses. This condition is compounded by the lack of knowledge and behavior of young mothers related to stunting prevention. A lot of efforts have been taken as one of them is to help solving this problem by using the GENTING booklet. The purpose of this study was to increase the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of adolescent mothers to prevent stunting. The pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test were used with purposive sampling in a total of 33 adolescent mothers as respondents and using GENTING booklet and questionnaires as instruments. The Wilcoxon test revealed a significant value on knowledge, attitudes, and behavior, p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the education with GENTING booklet affected the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of the adolescent mothers. The GENTING booklet can be used as a health promotion media as a means to prevent stunting.
