Abstract
The virtual world today rejects the needs for children to explore and be active with outdoor spaces. These lead to children‘s poor mental, physical and social growth development. To justify and understand the outdoor needs of early childhood development , it is essential to address and enhance the significance of outdoor landscape elements. Therefore, this study aims to explore children‘s preferred outdoor landscape elements in their early education stage. The study used pictorial techniques, interview and behaviour observation towards the children aged 5 to 6 years old from selected preschools at Seri Iskandar Perak. The results indicate that the play structure elements in outdoor spaces are the most preferred for childhood education.
