Abstract

Classical poetry, as an essential part of Chinese cultural studies, has always attracted countless literati. Integrating poetic conceptions into landscape design can fully showcase the cultural heritage and connotation of a city. This paper addresses issues such as the spread of homogenized design forms, lack of distinctive artistic conception, and scarcity of considerate public facilities in current waterfront landscape design. Using the renewal design of the waterfront landscape in Zigui County as a case study, and drawing inspiration from classical poetry, this research proposes optimization strategies such as a spatial design structure following the qi-cheng-zhuan-he pattern, flexible and diverse spatial functions, and immersive public facilities. By extracting cultural elements and integrating them into landscape design, the study aims to combine the two better, thereby fully realizing their roles in inheriting and promoting Chinese culture and enriching the connotation of landscape culture.
