Abstract

Barrier-free design has been widely applied and promoted in China with the development of social material civilization, spirit and spiritual civilization. However, compared with developed countries with smaller populations and an earlier start, China, with a large number of disabled people and a moderately aging society, still has a big gap. On the basis of collating data and literature, we conducted a research to explore how to reasonably design indoor space for the convenience of travel and safety of the elderly, and how to design the layout of furniture and functions in indoor space, so as to establish a pleasant living environment for the body and mind, and to embody the design idea of "humanistic care".
