Abstract

The problem in this study is that there are still many students who are passive in the learning process in counseling models courses, so that learning outcomes are low. The purpose of this study is to increase student participation and learning outcomes through the Make A Match model. This study used two data analysis techniques, namely (a) descriptive data analysis with qualitative percentages, (b) analysis of learning outcomes tests. The results of this study indicate that the first meeting of cycle I reached 77.69% and increased in cycle 2 to 86.15%. The average increase in participation from cycle I to cycle 2 was 8.46%. Furthermore, the increase in student learning outcomes on average from the pre-test results reached 57.75. In cycle I, the average value of student learning outcomes reached 70.75, and in cycle 2 it increased to 84.15. It can be concluded that the Make A Match model can increase the participation and learning outcomes of guidance and counseling students when the learning process is in counseling models courses, the Faculty of Education, Medan State University. This study recommended that every lecturer pay attention to student participation and learning outcomes through various learning models.
