Artificial intelligence technology has the potential to significantly affect the growth and development of businesses as it is the primary technological force behind the digital economy era and the new round of scientific and technological revolution. This study uses machine learning to choose the text of the annual reports of China's listed manufacturing firms, builds an index of the level of enterprise AI adoption, and assesses how it affects the value of manufacturing enterprises. It has been discovered that the use of artificial intelligence technology can greatly increase an enterprise's worth; nevertheless, the result also reveals a clear heterogeneity among firms with various ownership qualities.
