Abstract
With the development and transformation of society, English has gradually become one of the invisible requirements of society for talents, and English learning has become the general trend. The rapid development of artificial intelligence (referred to as AI) technology has profoundly affected all walks of life in life. Among them, machine translation involved in the language service industry, known as "AI in AI", has always been regarded as the last highland of human wisdom. It has also attracted many universities and research institutions to conduct research on it. It has attracted corporate giants including Google and Ali to actively invest. In this context, in terms of English translation, machine translation has gradually become equal to human translation to a certain extent. Many colleges and universities have begun to put artificial intelligence technology into English translation teaching, and study how to use artificial intelligence to improve classroom quality. At the same time, artificial intelligence translation also has certain shortcomings. This paper explores the practice of English translation teaching in colleges and universities under the background of artificial intelligence, and further explores the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence in college teaching practice.
