Abstract
This study aims to describe the cultural values in the folklore of the Cilacap people and explore the potential of folklore as a means of enhancing the character of love for the country. The things that are discussed in the folklore of the Cilacap people include (1) the folklore of the Kingdom of Nusatembini; (2) Wijayakusuma Flower; (3) Duchy of Donan. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the folklore of the Cilacap people contains very strong local wisdom values such as; the value of obedience, discipline, never give up, and love for the motherland. The value of local wisdom in Cilacap folklores can be a powerful tool to strengthen the love for the motherland, among the community, especially the younger generation.
