Abstract
In the context of highly fragmented digital attention, existing time- or location-based reminder mechanisms struggle to effectively support prospective memory in complex situations. To address this shortcoming, this paper focuses on the state changes and human-computer behavioral differences during the formation, maintenance, triggering, and execution of intentions, identifying the disconnect between the two, and laying the foundation for future research. This study adopted the research methods of diary studies and semi-structured interviews, selecting a total of 20 participants. After conducting prospective memory journey mapping and analysis, a mismatch mechanism model between humans and systems in prospective memory failure was obtained. Based on this, a human-computer interaction design framework for prospective memory failure was proposed, providing a design perspective for state sensitivity and entry points for reminder systems and intelligent assistants.
