Abstract

Assistive technology plays a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity, helps bridge the gap between their abilities and the demands of activities in university, enabling them to participate more fully in academic lives. This study aimed to describe students with disability experience in using assistive technology in Universitas Airlangga library. The informants of this study were 8 (eight) undergraduate students with disabilities from various majors in Universitas Airlangga. This case study used descriptive qualitative methods which conduct semi-structured interviews to gain in-depth insights of informants. This study indicates that all informants agreed that assistive technology was very important to help them in accessing digital information and support the success of their studies in university especially helps them to complete their course and final assignments. Informants also need a comfortable and conducive library space as well as assistance from librarians who understand how to serve informants' needs.
