Abstract
This study aims to determine whether the English learning outcomes of students taught by CTL are higher than students who are taught by expository, Do students who have high verbal abilities get higher English learning outcomes than students who have low verbal abilities, and Is there an interaction between learning strategies and verbal ability in influencing students' English learning outcomes. The research method is a quasi-experimental design with a 2 x 2 factorial design by inferential statistics using two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the average English learning outcomes of students taught with CTL were higher than students taught with Expository, the average English learning outcomes of students who have high verbal abilities are higher than students who have low verbal abilities, and there is an interaction between CTL and verbal ability on English learning outcomes.
