Abstract
This study aims to determine:(1)the validity, practicality and effectiveness of learning tools.(2)PjBL-based learning tools assisted by macromedia flash can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.(3)PjBL-based learning tools assisted by macromedia flash can increase students' independence. This research is a development research using the 4-D Thiagaradjan development model. The results showed that (1) the learning tools developed were declared valid, practical and effective to be used to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities at SMPN 30 Medan.(2)Increasing students' mathematical problem solving abilities at SMPN 30 Medan who were taught using PjBL tools. With the help of macromedia flash,it was stated that there was an increase from Trial 1 to Trial 2,as seen from the N-gain in Trial 1 of 0.37,increasing to 0.56 in Trial 2.(3)Increasing students' independent learning abilities. The first trial showed the average student learning independence was 80.13 with a standard deviation of 9.82,then the second trial showed 85.31 with a standard deviation of 11.42.
