Abstract

This research for exploring the oral tradition of the amaedola (Nias parable) which shows the richness of Nias culture, but it is feared that this oral tradition will become extinct because most of the younger generation do not understand it and are unable to use it. Another phenomenon is the research that has been done and the reference sources related to this topic are also minimal. This Study Aims to explain: (1) the interpretation of the amaedola text of the Nias diaspora community according to Paul Ricoeur's theory, (2) the maxim of the amaedola text. Amaedola Niha Khöda and Interpretation of the Parable of the Nias Diaspora Society" which can be used as cultural reading material and literacy material for Oral Literature courses
