Abstract

The Distribution System is one of the systems in the electric power system that has an important role because it is directly related to electrical energy consumers, especially consumers of medium voltage and low voltage electrical energy. With the increase in the number of consumers, it will increase the number of load points and load circuits, if the switching of the circuit is not carefully calculated, then the losses in the network will be even greater. Network reconfiguration is one way to optimize power flow by opening and closing switches found on the distribution network. The purpose of this network reconfiguration is to obtain an optimal reconfiguration of the distribution network with the least power loss. This scheme was tested on the NR7 84 bus 20 kV distribution system in Medan. The results of the analysis using the proposed method obtained a decrease in power loss from 33.21 kW to 24.49 kW or reduced 26.25% with an open switch 84, 9, 10, 17, 19, 26, 29, 75, 34 , 39, 43, 95, 96, 97.
