Abstract
Multiculturalism is the nature of human beings with a variety of cultures, religions, ethnicities, and languages. Even though multicultural Indonesians can live side by side, it is not uncommon for a person or a group to have fanaticism that creates a narrative of extremism that triggers conflict and division. And generally this happens in the name of Islam. In fact, as a guide for Muslims, the verses of the Qur'an are more about peace and tolerance in the midst of diversity. Thus, this article attempts to explain multiculturalism in the Qur'an as an effort to counter extremism narratives.
