Abstract
Employees are a valuable factor in organizational activities. Organizations are required to have superior and competent human resources. inactive archives are archiving whose frequency of use has begun to decline. This research aims to determine the competence of archivists in managing inactive archives. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with an in-depth interview approach with archivists. The results of this research indicate that the competency knowledge, skills, and attitudes are adequate. The knowledge that an archivist must have been knowledge about excellent and correct archive management. Also, archivists must know other scientific matters such as history, culture, information, and technology that can support the archivist's duties. Archivists must have skills in managing, placing, retrieving, and using archival infrastructure, likewise for archivists' attitudes, namely perseverance, patience, thoroughness, neatness, dexterity, intelligence, and honesty.
