Abstract

This research article discusses the development of core-based news text material in the form of e-modules which aims to support the teaching and learning process for Grade VIII junior high school students. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development model proposed by Branch. The population of this study were students of class VIII SMP Medan Family Education Foundation. The research sample was taken by cluster sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, structured interviews, distribution of questionnaires, and e-module validation. Data collection instruments used 1) material expert validation questionnaire and learning design expert validation, 2) teacher and student response questionnaires.
