Abstract

Poverty is a major issue that affects many countries throughout the world. Poverty and economic inequality are two major issues in Indonesia that must be addressed promptly. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of Indonesians still living in poverty reached 26.5 million in September 2021. As of September 2021, the Gini coefficient, which measures inequality, was 0.381, meaning there is an income gap that should be overcome, Through Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk, this project intends to develop a sharia social finance model to reduce the income gap between the rich and the poor in Indonesia. The model proposed in this study is an innovative productive waqf model involving the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Religion, Bank Indonesia, OJK, LKS-PWU, the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI), and nadzir institutions in its management. The research approachs of this study are literature reviews and interviews with key persons in implementing CWLS from the Ministry of Finance, BWI, LKS PWU, and Nadzir.
