Abstract
This study aims to assess the efficiency of the policy strategy for developing financial and economic management of the Indonesian border area through the evaluation of the Medium Term Development Plan and the Master Plan for Border Management. The methodology is based on qualitative research with the concept of "budgeting politics." The study results show the importance of the role of local governments in building cooperation with the central government and building proximity to border areas in accelerating the socio-economic system development of cross-border cooperation and the effect of integration.
