Abstract
Environmental issues can be assessed in various perspectives and writings using the perspective of citizenship. Damage and natural preservation are mostly caused by the activities of citizens in processing, maintaining and exploiting them. Therefore, the opportunity to maintain the balance of nature is highly dependent on citizens' awareness of the environment. This paper aims to analyze the opportunities, prospects, and challenges of ecological citizenship in Indonesia. Some cultural wisdom based in Indonesia is a good opportunity and prospect to develop. On the other hand, economic factors to exploit nature excessively become a challenge that must be immediately sought for alternative solutions to nature in order to create a harmonious relationship between nature and citizens.
