The research method used is experiments with manipulated variables are the application of portfolioassessment of learners in the context of school environment cleanliness. The data were analysed using non parametric statistical test with Mann Whitney Test. From the results of hypothesis testing above, obtained price Z = -5.778 with AsympSig. (2-tailed) = 0.00 <α = 0.05. These results indicated significant tests. This means differences in environmental awareness between students who were given the task of preparing a portfolio and students who were not given the task of preparing a portfolio of significant environmental cleanliness activities. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of portfolio assessment pattern outside of the learning has significant effect toward the environmental caring character of the learner in primary school (p <0,05).
