Abstract
. This article explores the role of business law in protecting MSMEs related to business competition in Indonesia. MSMEs have an important role in the national economy, but often face challenges in the context of business competition in Indonesia. Using a normative legal research approach focused on the collection and analysis of numerical data, this article analyzes the effectiveness of regulations such as Law Number 5 of 1999 concerning the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition, as well as other influential policies by collecting in-depth data on the cases discussed and combining them with a case study approach with the aim of digging up detailed and in-depth information on the topic to be discussed. The results of this study indicate that although there are supporting regulations, their implementation and effectiveness still face various challenges, this can also be seen in various countries regarding the challenges faced by the country. Factors such as lack of legal awareness among MSME actors, dominance of large companies and limited access for MSMEs to legal and financial support are the main obstacles in realizing fair business competition. This article recommends policy reform and increasing legal understanding among MSME actors to demonstrate their competitiveness in the market.
