Abstract
Forest Management Units (FMUs) plays important roles in Indonesia's commitment to mitigate climate change, especially in the land-based sector. Forest land in FMU is managed by FMU managers and communities around the forest. The study aims to identify people's perceptions and behavior around the RPH Mangunan related to climate change mitigation. Data collection methods are household surveys of KPH land users, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, and focus group discussion. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis. The result shows that forest farmers groups understood forests' ecological function. However, the level of community understanding regarding forest as carbon sinks and storage was still limited. Forest farmer group members are willing to be involved in protecting the forest. Forest farmer group members are still interested in carrying out agroforestry activities within the KPH area. Still, with the development of tourism, there has been a shift in agroforestry activities to ecotourism.
