Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriate education strategy for the scavenger community in Kelurahan (Urban Village) Tegal Sari Mandala 2 Village, Medan, which has low learning motivation due to the low level of parent income. To collect the required data, researchers conducted interviews with parents of school-age children. And to find out the appropriate education strategy (teaching method), researchers invited school-age children to play a role in accordance with the teaching strategy introduced by George Shaftel, then interviewed to find out the interest of school-age children on the method. From the results of the study it was found that this method is very suitable for school-age children who have low learning motivation.
